growing up was ok being a jw or so i thought, i guess u accept life as it comes when yr a kid , anyhow i played guitar and my elder dad (who is currently df) would forbid me to learn hotel california or even if it came on the radio he would run and quickly turn it off , .
he explained he had heard a tape recording at work that explained that this song along with stairway to heaven and others had back masking on it and when played backwards would say stuff like "satan has his own congregation " or other stuff like that , now this was not a jw sanctioned audio talk just some other christian production .. none of dad's other peers felt the same and growing up it illustrated to me dad's propensity to be influenced and convinced about something seemingly innocuous to others.. fast forward to a year or so ago and i showed him a section from the eagles documentary where don henley talks about the meaning of hotel california and how much trouble christian evangelists gave the song due to their own interpretation etc , so completely refuted the claims my father had told me were fact as a kid ,from the horses mouth so to speak .
his answer was ,"well of course he'd say that he wants to save face ,he wouldn't admit the truth !".
JWs have been programed to think in a very black and white manner which basically gives them only 2 options, so that while you can understand things with many more options/sides he is left with only 2 and so has extreme tunnel vision.
It is plainly in front of you, but invisible to him. The WT took away his mind to use him for slave labor and forced servitude.
who do you believe is financially benefiting from watchtower business dealings.
i know about the gold apple watch, but that is only a small percentage of the billions that they have.
so who do you think is keeping all of this money.
I think there could possibly be some or all GB members along with various corporation presidents and maybe some branch servants especially London that might be salting away some buck$$$ and what not kinda like a golden parachute for when they go belly up.

I can imagine a massive sell offs of properties around the world and the legal battles the might face for taking money out of a country. I think in the USA we should be seeing some legal battles as sell offs pick up the pace, I'm contributions continue to nose dive even with a forced pledge written on a piece of paper a year or more ago. People especially younger internet fluent people are leaving in droves and so all you see is old people that don't have much else left to do in life are the only ones attending. They are becoming less and less significant and so the cart bull shit trying to give them a public presents a miserable failure and the carts remain unmanned for the most part by some publisher trying to get he mandatory time in while not being too noticeable by the general public.
Menlo Park here in Cali had some unwanted publicity from the removal of elders unwilling to comply with orders to sell their meeting place by WT corp. Maybe even some fraud charges and books being audited because of complaints by informers or members in the near future as they get pushed just a little too far by this greedy corporation.
Now something like that would all of a sudden cause a lot of media attention, portraying them as evil, unloving, and money grabbing despots that rule with an iron fist over their duped members.

if “tree of good and bad” were literal, it would mean adam and eve would know what is “good and bad” only after eating of that tree.
however, even before eating of it, they would think “it is good for us to eat of this tree” which means they are already endowed knowledge of “good and bad.” that means “tree of good and bad” is symbolic of something.. since religious organizations interpret this differently, each reader has to adopt his own conclusion.
for me it looks like this: one thinks of good and bad in relation to himself—if something is beneficial for him he would say it is good for him, and bad for him if it is not beneficial.
When I stopped interpreting things and happenings as good and bad but started as seeing them as flow of events which are totally neutral, it keeps my happiness in tact.
That's a pretty nice state to be in that would require some serious brain reconfiguration and a serious dampening of the Default Mode Network, and losing one sense of self blissful indeed.

That doesn't mean that GREAT EVIL has not occurred within JW congregation - I know that it has. But as XJWs we just don't have the numbers to garner great attention.
True enough but if a Jonestown or Waco Tx, type of thing happened then that would make the news and the org would be toast. Just saying a what if scenario or something comparable.

I remember a few times at our special day assembly they would still give the baptism talk even if nobody was getting baptized.
They should stop doing baptisms at assemblies too, much too embarrassing to see nobody there and a talk being given about a nonexistent/not going to happen baptism. The GB as usual are slow learners and these nobody getting baptized talks will probably keep happening until they finally go belly up or stop having these events.
